The Church of St. Uriel the Archangel is a member of the Anglican Communion, a Christian family of over 70 million people worldwide. We are therefore heir to a continuing Christian tradition dating from the second century, when the Catholic Faith was first brought to the British Isles. From Revolutionary times in the United States, the church took on distinctly American characteristics. On a more local level, St. Uriel is a parish in the Diocese of New Jersey. Our diocese is the second oldest diocese in the Episcopal Church and one of the largest, with 164 parishes and missions. Our ethnic diversity is astonishing as well, with nearly 100 languages spoken within the boundaries of the diocese. From Central to southern New Jersey, the diocese encompasses two-thirds of the State of New Jersey; and our churches include urban and inner city parishes as well as parishes of farmland and mountains. We are a Eucharistic community with a strong emphasis placed upon living in Christian community. Our parish life is one that begins at the altar with the celebration of the Mass. We also work and pray, and enjoy our time together. We value our worship, our study, and our fellowship, and we understand that these gifts focus our attention on our active ministry to the world. It is our desire to be faithful followers and witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ, both crucified and risen. We have been blessed as a parish to be situated on the Jersey Shore in the town of Sea Girt, which is located in Monmouth County. Monmouth County offers a world of activities. Your visit to our county features 27 miles of pristine beaches, many historic sites, and deep sea and fresh water fishing. Whether you are into picking your own fruits and vegetables, or antiquing, or amusement parks, it's all here. The county also offer annual events such as the County Fair, food and jazz festivals, concerts and a wealth of cultural and ethnic affairs. If you are visiting the beautiful Jersey Shore, please join us for worship.
